Project summary
On the 6th of June 2026 I will run / jog / walk around the beautiful city of Düsseldorf. This is a distance of round about 120 to 130 kilometers.
Idea
The project is meant to symbolize the strength of the people living or working in Düsseldorf and to show what one can achieve when we support each other.
This means: I want to complete the route without bringing my own supplies and rely on supporters along the way to cheer me on, provide encouragement, and help with food and drink.
Of course, there are many other ideas that will shape the overall concept – but those will develop over the coming months.
Timing / speed
I’m a hobby runner and I can confidently say that I won’t be running the entire distance. The plan is a structured mix of running, jogging, and walking.
This project isn’t about setting new records or achieving peak performance. It’s about pushing physical and mental boundaries. It’s meant to show how far determination and a strong will can take you – especially when you can rely on the support of a community.”
Start & finish
According to current plans, I will start my run at the Rheinturm – and hopefully finish there as well.
Support me
as a refreshment point along the route
This is the most important way to support me! The goal of the project is to complete the full route without (or with very little) self-supplied food and drink. This means I’ll be relying on your support along the way.
The planned refreshment points are still being finalized, but the idea is to have one roughly every 10 kilometers along the route. So that you don’t have to guess where or when I show up, I’ll be using live tracking throughout the run, allowing you to estimate my arrival.
That said, I’m also very happy about any support between the official stops – a few encouraging words or some small snacks are always welcome.
by joining me for some kilometers
First and foremost, please note that this is not an official race. It’s a private project, and anyone who joins me does so at their own risk. That said, I’d be thrilled to have people walk, run, or even cycle alongside me from time to time. Sharing the experience and motivating each other can really help the kilometers go by faster.
as a sponsor
Let me make one thing clear: I do not intend to gain any financial or material benefits from this project. My goal is to partner with a few selected charitable organizations. If individuals or companies choose to become “sponsors,” this means they will support these organizations through donations.
Sponsors can be individuals or businesses – and as always: every euro counts!
Of course, if you’d like to support me personally on this project, there are ways to do that too – perhaps by donating food or drink supplies (e.g., isotonic drinks, energy bars, etc.) to be used at the support stations. Or by sharing the project through media or social channels.
A dream would be to find a sponsor for clothing or promotional materials, like T-shirts to thank helpers or printed materials to raise awareness before the project begins.
Got other ideas? I’d love to hear them.
as a nonprofit organization
Through this project, I also want to offer a platform for organizations that help others. This can and should go beyond just the website. Think of coordinated social media content, joint actions during the event, information booths at the start or finish – and more.
We can discuss possible ways to collaborate in a personal conversation.
as a company
Just like nonprofits, companies are also very welcome to partner with the project. What’s important is a connection to Düsseldorf or a strong commitment to charitable causes. A support booth along the route? A donation to one of the partner organizations? There are plenty of ideas for collaboration that we can explore together.
